Aimee Nezhukumatathil

Aimee Nezhukumatathil was born in Chicago, IL to a Filipina mother and a father from South India. She attended Ohio State University where she received her BA in English and her MFA in poetry and creative non-fiction and recently was named Alumna of the Year, a distinction she is especially proud of during football season.

Aimee is the author of five books of poetry, including her newest Night Owl, and two illustrated collections of essays. A professor of English and Creative Writing for over twenty-five years, she is known for her dynamic and joy-filled teaching and she often serves as a poetry “ambassador,” bringing the delights and joys of reading and writing poetry to audiences all over the country. She also serves as a firefly guide for Mississippi State Parks.
