The Flowers Love Us

by Josephine Chaparro

Sometimes, it is our colors.
Sometimes, it is the shape of our delicate petals.
Sometimes, it is our scent.
Sometimes, you will give us to a Bride to make her feel
                                                  like a Beautiful Princess.
Sometimes, we try to say hello to you.
Sometimes, we say, you look mighty handsome today.

We have marvelous greenery that is part of our natural package.
We do not need stylists, advertising people, or fancy cameras.
We do not need to be placed in magazines for the wealthy to see us.
We must tell you: We are here for everyone; rich or poor, sad, or happy.
We are here for you to take a little pause today and say hello to us.

We must ask you:
Humanity? We know, you are in complete solitude.
Humanity? We know, you are in intense pain.
Humanity:  We know, you need our love.
Humanity? We beg you! We beg you!
Please? Please?
Will you accept, our Bendición?
