Ashley Bryan, the Poet at The Farnsworth Museum in Rockland (in person)

The Poets Corner is collaborating with The Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, Maine to bring you a special event: Ashley Bryan, the Poet.

From 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Rockland, Maine, Farnsworth Collective members and their guests are invited to attend a poetry reading in celebration of the life of Ashley Bryan, visual artist, children’s book writer, and poet, who lived on Little Cranberry Island in Maine.  The reading will be held at the Farnsworth and will feature Maya Williams, poet laureate of Portland and Carl Little, poet and friend of Bryan’s.  There will also be an open mic for poets who have written poems in response to the exhibition.

Members of The Poets Corner community are invited to write a poem in response to the exhibition “Ashley Bryan: Beauty in Return” (May 28-December 31, 2022).  If you’d like to read your ekphrastic poem, written in response to the exhibition, please register for the open mic here.

If you are interested in attending the event, please RSVP here.
